Job summary

The Planet Group seeks a Manager - Operations Control Center (OCC) for a perm, on-site role in Bloomington, MN. This position supports real-time operations in a dynamic energy environment and offers relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) with 10 years in a real-time control room, 5+ in management, and strong experience in electrical generation (thermal, hydro, renewables).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10 years in real-time control room; 5+ years in a management role; renewable energy preferred.
• Experience in operations of electrical generation: thermal, hydro, or renewables.
• Hands-on with HV systems, transmission or collection systems.
• Renewable energy experience in solar, wind and/or storage plants.
• Knowledge of RTO, system operators, NERC regulations, and utility electrical generation relationships.
• Proven problem-solving and improving day-to-day operations of a department.

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10 years of experience working in a real-time control room, renewable energy preferred, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Experience working in operations of electrical generation field - thermal, hydro, or renewables.
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage systems, transmission systems or collection systems.
• Renewable energy experience - solar, wind and/or storage plants
• Experience or in-depth knowledge of RTO, system operators, NERC regulations, utility electrical generation relationships, and regulations.
• Evidence of problem-solving skills and improving the day-to-day operations of a department.
