Job summary

Standex Electronics in Fairfield, OH seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the Endurance Design Team, driving the development and launch of Power Magnetics products. You will oversee engineers, processes, and cross‑site programs from concept to production.

You’ll bring 5+ years of senior engineering management, a Bachelor’s in Engineering (advanced degree a plus), and strong leadership to advance lean methods such as A3 problem solving and Kaizen.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of senior engineering management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Ability to operate in ITAR/CUI US Person or with export license.
• Knowledge of power magnetics, transformer/inductor design is a plus.
• Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen linking technical decisions to outcomes.
• Experience scaling processes to maximize impact.
• Experience leading projects of varying size and complexity.
• Knowledge of ISO AS9100.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute engineering department goals aligned to Standex processes.
• Lead a multidisciplinary product development team across design disciplines.
• Drive EVT, DVT to production, ensuring prototypes and launches.
• Define tools, systems, and processes to enable workflows.
• Provide technical leadership across power magnetics programs.
• Partner with customers and stakeholders to shape proposals.
• Guide new product development and sustainment, meeting quality and cost targets.
• Improve engineering standards and cross-site practices.
