Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is hiring a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) in the Power/HVAC division. You will perform maintenance and minor repairs on diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair a range of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel components, and occasionally train junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
• Report machine condition to Management
• Responsible for service documentation
• Occasional travel to customer sites
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Train lower level technicians as needed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed
