Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Power HVAC Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on diesel engines, HVAC, and dehumidification/air purification equipment for customers. You will ensure safe, professional service and have opportunities for advancement within the Service Department.

This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork and the ability to travel to customer sites, with potential growth into higher level technician roles and ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining diesel engines or HVAC equipment.
• Intermediate to advanced diagnostic and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Responsible for service documentation.
• Occasional travel to customer sites.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Train lower level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
