Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers in Boston, MA is seeking a Mechanical Piping Designer to join our Power Group on a hybrid schedule. You will design piping systems for industrial projects, develop P&ID drawings, and model equipment skids using AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree or equivalent and 6+ years of piping design experience, strong ASME code knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D P&ID and BIM360. We offer flexible hybrid work and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of piping design experience
• Knowledge of ASME codes and piping standards

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings and design piping systems for industrial projects such as cogeneration plants, central heating/cooling plants, renewable energy systems, boilers
• Develop equipment general arrangement drawings, P&ID, piping plan and section drawings
• Design and model equipment skids, select and design pipe supports
• Coordinate layout of mechanical equipment and routing of piping, ductwork with other trades
• Create and modify technical drawings from engineer markups using AutoCAD and REVIT
• Ensure designs are complete, accurate and comply with standards
• Review project files for compliance with company/client standards
• May travel to project sites to observe existing conditions
• Other duties as assigned
