Job summary

VC5 Consulting is seeking an experienced engineer to architect, design, and implement AspenTech generation management systems in Houston. You will lead scheduling, dispatch, and unit commitment to improve efficiency while driving integrations with adjacent platforms for seamless data flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, CS, Power Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with generation management systems (GMS).
• Experience with real-time operational systems and OT/IT environments.
• Familiarity with APIs and OPC interfaces.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement AspenTech generation management systems while ensuring their optimal performance.
• Lead and support generation scheduling, dispatch, unit commitment, and performance optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
• Drive system integrations between generation management systems and adjacent platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
• Perform advanced system performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical support to teams, fostering knowledge transfer and operational excellence.
