Job summary

CEU Carbon Engineering ULC in Houston, TX is seeking a self‑motivated IT Expert for the Industrial Control System within the IT Power System group. This hybrid 9/80 role involves critical responsibilities including designing and supporting AspenTech GMS solutions while optimizing power system operations.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 3 years of experience with GMS, and a strong understanding of power generation operations. Candidates should also have proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, power systems engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with generation management systems (GMS).
• Strong understanding of power generation operations, including thermal, renewable, and/or Cogen assets.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, configure, implement, and support AspenTech GMS solutions.
• Lead and support generation scheduling, dispatch, unit commitment, and performance optimization.
• Own and drive system integrations between GMS and adjacent platforms.
