Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in Florida seeks a Generation Technician Trainee I or II to maintain plant equipment and systems at Power Generation facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, and assist with modifications under supervision as needed.

Role requires travel 50–75%, ability to work in heat, heights, and confined spaces, and adherence to safety guidelines. A valid driver’s license is required and a high school diploma is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must have a journeyman skill in Mechanical or Certified Welder Mechanic or progression level in two additional disciplines.
• 1.5 years related experience for GT-1; 3 years for GT-2.
• Must pass EEI POSS and MASS at I&C level.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass medical physical including respirator fit test.
• Live within 50 miles of primary location.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, repair and maintenance of facility equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment; interpret drawings and manuals.
• Record conditions before and after maintenance; perform preventive tasks.
• Support plant operations and assist Engineering with modifications.
• Complete inspections and post-maintenance testing; ensure systems are operational.
