Fabick Cat is seeking a Power Generation Generator Field Technician in Eau Claire, WI to install, maintain, and repair CAT generators up to 3000 kW across multiple sites.

The role involves commissioning, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, load bank testing, and on-site customer support, with travel within Wisconsin. Qualifications

• 3+ years in maintenance and repair of power generators (50 kW to 3000 kW)
• Strong knowledge of CAT generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators up to 3000 kW, including natural gas, biogas, and diesel variants.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance for optimal generator performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform load bank testing and other diagnostics to assess performance.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on operation and maintenance.
• Ensure OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all activities.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Position Overview

Fabick Cat is a leading provider of power generation solutions, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators up to 3000 kW. We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient power solutions to our clients across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators up to 3000 KW, including those powered by natural gas, biogas, and diesel.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generators.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with generators and related equipment.
• Perform load bank testing and other diagnostic procedures to assess generator performance.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding generator operation and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to resolve complex technical issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in power generation.
• Interact with commercial customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of power generators, preferably 50 KW up to 3000 kW.
• Strong knowledge of CAT generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
• Knowledge of control panels and switchgear is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as needed.
• Technician travel will consist within Wisconsin and be assigned to the territory surrounding the branch of hire. Average of 45 hours per week, but additional OT is offered if desired. Less than 15% of overnight travel annually.
