Job summary

Warren CAT in Texas is seeking an Electrical Power Generation Field Technician II on a rotational schedule. The role involves high quality repair service on equipment, traveling to the job site, and lodging for the 14-day assignment to maximize value and efficiency.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing engines, generating service reports, following CSA and Caterpillar guidelines, and ensuring safety procedures. A strong work ethic and readiness for travel are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and/or three to five years related experience and/or training.
• Preferably AA in Applied Diesel Technology.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed and to fulfill the rotational schedule.
• Clean driving record and CDL license within 90 days.
• Complete Work steps assessment.
• Forklift and/or man lift certification.
• Arc flash training certification.
• EPG Level II training completed or demonstrated performance.
• Typically at this level for 24–48 months.
• May be required to pass DOT physical.
• H2s, MSHA and lock-out/tag-out certified as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot problems while providing recommendations for repairs and perform critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
• Follow all documented CSA processes and guidelines.
• Follow Caterpillar guidelines for engine overhead measurements and adjustments within six weeks of hire date.
• Generate service reports, oil samples, and inspections; leave paperwork with the customer.
• Generate service reports and inspections; submit to dispatchers within 24–48 hours after service.
• Follow safety and contamination procedures including MSHA guidelines in mining applications.
