Job summary

Ohio CAT, a Caterpillar Dealership, seeks a Field Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair CAT Power Generation equipment on-site. You will operate from a fully equipped service truck, servicing diesel and gas generators, switchgear, ATS systems, and control panels.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and customer service at diverse sites. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED with a 2-year diesel or power generation program and 3+ years of hands-on experience, plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a 2-year tech program in diesel or power generation.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in diesel engines, generators, or industrial equipment.
• Experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel systems is preferred.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and control diagrams; strong diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of CAT Power Generation equipment.
• Conduct load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools (CAT ET, SIS) to troubleshoot issues and document results.
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support at customer sites.
• Adhere to safety protocols and documentation standards.
