Job summary

United Engines is seeking a Power Generation Field Service Technician II to perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of power generation equipment in the Midland, TX area.

The role requires reading schematics, diagnosing complex system issues, and providing customer training and guidance while adhering to safety standards. Travel will be extensive to customer sites, with opportunities to work across diverse power-generation equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in power generation, electrical systems or diesel engines.
• Experience servicing Cummins, CAT, Kohler, MTU or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110 and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair generators.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on power generation equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, control, and starting system issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Document findings, repairs, parts usage, and recommendations through reports.
