Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. is seeking an Engineer Technician to assist with coordinating and performing power generation project engineering activities. The role collaborates with the Engineering Manager, handling scope reviews, BOMs, drawings, and documentation while supporting schedule adherence.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering background, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Domestic travel may occur.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience, or 7 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Self-motivated with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical design, thermodynamics, instrumentation & controls.
• Reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and electrical schematics; BOM development and review; equipment datasheets; standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope and customer specs ahead of Kickoff.
• Create and maintain standard project Document Submittal list (VRDL).
• Monitor and report on engineering hours and schedule adherence on projects.
• Review Turn-In and PO for accuracy and costing to identify issues early.
• Provide initial P&ID markups to Design Team to start model.
• Complete and submit project pipe specs.
• Assist PEs in execution tasks: BOM, drawings review, walkdowns, manuals, datasheets.
• Engineering document control and transmittal management.
• Coordinate with project management, supply chain, manufacturing, and QA.
• Track engineering actions and deliverables.
• Support corrective actions related to non-conformances, shortages, and design changes.
