Job summary

Propwr is seeking a Power Generation Electrical Technician to install, test, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical systems across power generation assets. You will work with operations, commissioning, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires MV electrical experience, NEC/OSHA familiarity, and a commitment to safe work practices in challenging environments. On-site work across facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical college training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of medium voltage electrical experience.
• Certified Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical systems on power generation assets.
• Perform terminations, cable routing, and panel wiring per drawings and plans.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and voltage tests.
• Troubleshoot faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in pre-job planning and JSA briefings.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, quality execution,and operational readiness, working closely with Operations, Commissioning, Engineering, and Maintenanceteams.ResponsibilitiesInstall, inspect, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting power generation assets, including generators, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, protection devices, and auxiliary electrical equipment.Perform electrical terminations, cable routing, panel wiring, and equipment installation in accordance with drawings, specifications, and commissioning plans.Conduct electrical testing including insulation resistance (megger), continuity, voltage/current measurements, phasing, and functional verification.Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement safe, effective corrective actions to restore system performance.Execute all work in compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, company safety policies, and site‑specific procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energized work controls.Verify installation quality and operational readiness prior to energization or system turnover.Participate in pre‑job planning, hazard analysis, and job safety briefings to ensure safe execution.Documents work performed, diagnostic steps taken, and parts used in the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management SystemMust be safety conscious and willing to use stop work authority when necessaryPerform general housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property, including but not limited to service vehicle and trailer.Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practicesPerform other duties as assignedJob QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.
