Job summary

Genesis Technical Staffing, Inc is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our Birmingham, AL based EPC team. The role focuses on power-related work including gas turbines, renewables, BESS, substations, and transmission systems.

You will create precise installation details, perform NEC-based calculations, and coordinate with other disciplines while supporting field verification and startup activities. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of electrical design experience in EPC and power sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and familiarity with Revit, Navisworks.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently or with virtual teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical installation details, single-lines, diagrams, layouts, cable schedules and grounding plans.
• Perform lighting, voltage drop, conduit/tray fill, sizing calculations and overcurrent protection.
• Determine MCC and substation loading; develop installation documents from vendor drawings.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Support field verification and provide on-site assistance during construction and startup.
• Contribute to cost estimation, material take-offs, and project scheduling.
