OVERVIEW:
A global engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a creative, highly technical professional for a Power Field Application Engineer role. The successful candidate will have strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills and thrive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the Customer Technical Interface: Act as the primary technical voice during field deployments and translate complex engineering issues into actionable insights for customer engineering teams.
- Drive Rapid First-Level Failure Analysis: Diagnose and resolve critical hardware and firmware issues at customer facilities to minimize downtime and support reliable system operation.
- Bridge Global Engineering Teams: Coordinate with international manufacturing and design teams to validate specifications, execute testing, and support NPI programs.
- Execute High-Precision Lab Diagnostics & Rework: Perform hands-on debugging, voltage/current control-loop tuning, and precision SMD circuit rework in laboratory or customer environments.
- Proactively Engineer Out Quality Risks: Identify component or design vulnerabilities and work with engineering teams to improve reliability and optimize system configurations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Field Application Engineering, power design, or power electronics.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC, DC/DC power supplies, and analog circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with hardware debugging using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and power supplies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Mandarin proficiency preferred, but not required.
- Experience supporting data center, server, AI, or hyperscale power solutions preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional global engineering teams preferred.
