Job summary

KBR Consulting seeks a Practice Leader for Power & Energy Systems in Houston. You will lead the Power Generation Practice, guide FEED and front-end design efforts, and drive client engagements with utilities, IPPs, and developers in energy transition projects.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years in power generation engineering and consulting, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering technically complex solutions across gas, renewables, and storage. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in power generation engineering and consulting, preferably with a U.S. focus.
• Hands-on experience with FEED studies for gas, renewables and energy storage.
• Strong grid interconnection and DER integration knowledge.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on generation technologies: gas turbines, combined cycle, solar, wind, nuclear, storage.
• Interface with clients and licensors to ensure technical alignment and project success.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge development within the practice.
• Support business development with technical input for proposals and presentations.
• Lead FEED studies for new power generation and repowering projects.
• Conduct feasibility assessments, technology evaluations and DER integration studies.
• Identify opportunities for consulting, owner's engineering, PMC, EPCM and EPC services.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on environmental, permitting, and M&A due diligence.
