Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to join its Power & Energy team in Houston, TX, with consideration for other locations. You will design mechanical piping and equipment for power generation facilities and coordinate with suppliers and teams across disciplines.

You will prepare specifications, data sheets and bid evaluations, review vendor drawings, and help develop PFDs/P&IDs while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring QA/QC compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant post-education experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx.
• Experience using Caesar II or AutoPipe.
• Experience using Thermoflow.
• Knowledge of mechanical system and construction laws, codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical piping and equipment for renewable and fossil power generation facilities.
• Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs and bid evaluations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs; participate in project scoping and cost calculations.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
