Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is offering a Summer Internship Program in Houston/Austin, TX for a Civil/Structural Engineering intern within the Power and Energy team. The 12-week program begins May 17, 2027, with exposure to real projects, mentorship from senior staff, and opportunities to network across the organization.

You will contribute to overhead transmission line projects, participate in design calculations, field work, and documentation while learning essential professional skills.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in civil/structural engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated interest in civil/structural engineering and willingness to learn.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following directions from mentors to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Aid in project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Complete assigned task training.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Participate in additional duties as needed.
• Note: there is no relocation or housing assistance provided.
