Job summary

Amaze Systems in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to design and test Gen4 EME board-level circuits for Buck and Boost topologies, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and system-level performance.

You will work hands-on with high voltage (>800V) switches, use PXIe, oscilloscope, soldering tools, and collaborate with DCE/EME teams to deliver robust inverter systems. Strong DFMEA and analytical skills required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in power electronics domain.
• Worst case circuit analysis, DFMEA.
• Experience with Buck and Boost topologies.
• High voltage >800V and high current switches.
• Hands-on with soldering, oscilloscope, PXIe and interfacing sensors, multimeter, DCE/EME, HV power supplies.
• Software experience: schematic design, PCB design, simulation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Gen4 EME board-level design and testing of circuits based on customer requirements.
• Ensure customer's features and performance levels are designed/tested at product and circuit level.
• Set up the EME & DCE with Powertrain Inverter system and provide analysis report for system evaluation.

Job description

• Conduct Gen4 EME board-level design and testing of circuits (including pertaining to Buck tray, Boost tray, Supervisory board) based on customer requirements.
• Ensure the customer's desired features and performance levels are designed and tested at product level and circuit level.
• Setup the EME & DCE along with Powertrain Inverter system and provide analysis report for system evaluation.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in power electronics domain.
• a. Worst case circuit analysis, Component failure modes in design or DFMEA
• b. Experience with Buck, Boost topologies.
• c. Experience with high voltage >800V and high current switches
• Hands on Equipment: Soldering, Oscilloscope, PXIe and its interfacing sensors, Multimeter, DCE, EME, High voltage power supplies.
• Software: Any software experience with Schematic design, PCB, Simulation
