Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering in San Diego, CA, seeks a Power Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of advanced electrical power systems for US Navy ship programs. You enjoy hands-on power systems work and collaborating with discipline teams to meet changing priorities.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in power electronics and Navy or equivalent experience, with readiness to handle a broad range of tasks in a dynamic environment and facility maintenance tasks aboard ships.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in power electronics.
• Navy or directly comparable experience (government contracting, government, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Work with DC/DC and DC/AC solid state converters, solid-state relays, motor drives, transfer switches, and overcurrent protection.
• Oversee and facilitate shipboard preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Interface with multidisciplinary engineering groups to coordinate technical requirements and product integrity.
• Perform engineering projects related to electrical power distribution systems, electric drives and solid state converters.
