Job summary

The Systems Engineer II at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems is responsible for supporting the design and development of power electronics systems, reviewing customer specifications, and aiding with architecture development and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of detailed design experience in power applications.
• Experience using Matlab for simulation of electrical systems.
• Model-based design experience preferred.
• Experience with Navy or defense applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and requirements to support cost-effective designs.
• Support architectures for systems and subsystems relating to power electronics, drives, and UPS.
• Contribute to system-level documentation and budget estimates for proposals; support risk tracking and mitigation.
• Verify performance through simulation, analysis, and laboratory testing.
• Maintain design requirements using a RTM.
• Coordinate tasks within the engineering team to meet cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
