Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. invites a Summer 2027 internship in the Power Electronics Group of Engineering & Product Development.

You will work on modern power electronics with hands-on component selection, circuit design, and performance evaluation in a structured lab setting. The role requires a current Bachelor’s student in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with strong math skills and fluent English, capable of writing design and test reports and program summaries.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with power electronics experience.
  • Fluently read, speak and write in English.
  • Ability to write technical documentation including design and test reports.
  • Ability to prepare program summaries for peer and executive review.
  • Strong mathematical and engineering computation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Technical lead on power electronics components, circuits, and modules.
  • Component selection and evaluation.
  • Circuit design, analysis and debugging.
  • Performance testing and evaluation.
  • Function verification and validation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workplace.
  • Understand and comply with quality policy and environmental standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job description

What you will do:

Summer 2027 internship in Power Electronics Group of Engineering & Product Development with sound experiences and knowledge of modern power electronics.

How you will do it:
  • Technical responsible in all aspects of power electronics related, including components, circuits, and modules, etc.

  • Component selection and evaluation.

  • Circuit design, analysis and debugging.

  • Performance testing and evaluation.

  • Function verification and validation.

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and orderly workplace.

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with quality policy, procedures and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals and environmental well-being.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

What we look for:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with experience in power electronics.

  • Language Skills

  • Fluently read, speak and write in English. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from technical staff.

  • Ability to write technical documentation including design reports, work instructions and test reports.

  • Ability to prepare program summaries for peer and executive review.

  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply mathematical and engineering principles to computations with various tools, including but not limited to mathematical models in engineering metrics.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21.00-$24.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge,skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
