Job summary

American Turbines is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to own the turbine power stage, turning generator output into 800VDC and selecting components for operation under varying loads. You will test with a live turbine, address thermal and fast transient constraints, and collaborate with embedded controls for seamless sensing handoff.

You will work on iterative hardware testing across hundreds of hours of operation, not just bench demonstrations, in a fast-paced seed-stage environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing power electronics for variable-speed or high-frequency rotating machinery.
• Ability to reason from first principles about tradeoffs like direct-drive vs. geared systems.
• Proven capability to diagnose and debug hardware under test conditions.
