Job summary

American Turbines is seeking a Turbomachinery Design & Systems Engineer to own the mechanical design of the engine from clean-sheet concept to complete integration. You will define interfaces between mechanical, thermal, and control subsystems and lead analyses to prove durability in the field.

You will collaborate with suppliers and machinists to ensure designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and aligned with drawings and specs, contributing directly to time-to-market for distributed power

Qualifications

• Experience in clean-sheet mechanical design of rotating machinery: gas turbines, turbochargers, turbopumps, or similar.
• Strong command of structural and thermal FEA and the judgment to know which loads matter.
• Hands-on material selection for hot, high-speed, high-cycle environments.
• Fluency working with machine shops and suppliers; design for manufacturability from the first sketch.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of the engine from concept to detailed layout.
• Define interfaces between mechanical, thermal, fuel, and control subsystems for full integration.
• Perform structural, thermal, and rotordynamic analyses to validate readiness for fabrication.
