Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to design and build power electronics and charging systems for a robotic platform. You will own the electrical design of the autonomous charging dock, including power conversion, thermal management, and board-level integration, working hands-on in the lab with oscilloscopes and thermal cameras.

You will collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers, define requirements, select topologies, and bring hardware

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience focusing on power electronics.
  • Experience designing DC/DC converters, full-bridge inverters, or isolated topologies.
  • Strong PCB design and high-current routing with EMC considerations.
  • Hands-on lab skills to bring up and test power boards using oscilloscopes and power analyzers.
  • Experience with embedded interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and basic firmware timing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate power converter circuits including DC/DC stages and isolated topologies.
  • Own PCB schematic capture and layout for high-current power circuits with thermal considerations.
  • Bring up prototype boards in the lab and debug using oscilloscopes and thermal imaging.
  • Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers on system integration and testing.
  • Develop and execute electrical test plans and documentation.
