Role: Power Electronics Engineer (Electrical Power Systems Engineer)

Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, and validate inverter and converter power electronics, control systems, and auxiliary components for traction and propulsion applications (railway rolling stock, light rail vehicles, electric-powered off-road vehicles for mining, construction, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE)
  • Several years of relevant full-time experience
  • Experience with high power electronics design, converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC), three-phase motors, switching devices, Si (Silicon)/SiC (Silicon Carbide) MOSFET, IGBT, etc.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, etc.

Screening Questions:

  1. Do you have hands-on experience in architecting/designing and controlling inverters, AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC converters?
  2. Do you have experience in sizing switching devices and filter components?
  3. Do you have experience in comparing, analyzing, understanding, and controlling the characteristics and performance of silicon vs silicon carbide switching devices for the applications mentioned above?
