Job summary

Howard Industries in Laurel, Mississippi seeks a seasoned SST / Inverter / UPS Design Engineer to design high-performance inverter and UPS systems for industrial and utility applications. Role includes SST development support and full product development from concept to production.

You will collaborate across firmware, PCB, and testing teams, focusing on EMI/EMC, thermal optimization, and IEC/IEEE/UL compliance for power conversion equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in inverter and/or UPS design.
  • Strong expertise in UPS architecture and operation.
  • Control systems and digital power conversion knowledge.
  • H-bridge and full-bridge inverter design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop inverter and UPS systems (online, solar, offline, line-interactive UPS).
  • Work on DC-DC and DC-AC converter topologies.
  • Develop and optimize power-electronical subsystems and controllers.
  • Design energy management and battery integration interfaces.

In addition to traditional UPS and inverter development, this position will support Solid-State Transformer (SST) development and integration, contributing to next-generation high-frequency, multi-port power-conversion platforms.
