Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Technician to assist with inspecting power distribution poles and compiling field data for clients. The role supports the Power Distribution Engineering team and involves some travel to project sites within the utility territory.

The position requires a high school diploma, the ability to work outdoors, and teamwork. No prior certifications are required, and the company offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities in the power and energy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare construction orders for overhead and underground facilities.
• Apply standards and industry guidelines in layouts of electric distribution facilities.
• Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, BOMs and reports for projects.
• Assist in load studies on distribution transformers and investigate issues.
• Negotiate Rights of Way with landowners and gather necessary data.
• Prepare and submit reports and correspondence.
• Assist in field data acquisition and in gathering information from field notes.
• Digitize, copy and scan drawings and maps.
• Use client and company systems to track design activities.
• Follow the Code of Safe Practices per company policy.
