Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking an Engineer II to support electric distribution projects, design and coordinate execution, and serve as the primary contact for customers, developers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in utility, energy, distribution or infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or design projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.

Job Summary

The Engineer II is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and execution of electric distribution projects while serving as a primary point of contact for customers, developers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

This role combines technical engineering expertise with strong customer relationship management, requiring the ability to develop practical design solutions, manage multiple projects, and effectively communicate project requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Develop engineering designs and construction packages for electric distribution projects in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for assigned projects, providing technical guidance and responding to customer inquiries.

Coordinate with customers, contractors, developers, field personnel, and internal departments to support project planning and execution.

Perform field assessments and site visits to evaluate existing conditions and determine design requirements.

Prepare cost estimates, material requirements, and project documentation.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, budgets, and customer expectations.

Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design calculations to ensure accuracy and quality.

Support construction activities by providing technical assistance and resolving design-related issues.

Maintain accurate project records and utilize company systems for project tracking and documentation.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, engineering practices, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience, preferably within the utility, energy, distribution, or infrastructure industry.

Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or design projects.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with electric distribution design and utility engineering projects.

Knowledge of electric distribution systems, construction practices, and utility operations.

Familiarity with engineering design software, GIS applications, and work management systems.

Experience working directly with customers, developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

EIT certification or progress toward professional engineering licensure.
