Job summary

Disaster Resource Group is seeking a Designer I, Power Distribution in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role designs complex residential, commercial, and industrial power facilities, reading blueprints, performing drafting, and supporting both overhead and underground projects.

The position emphasizes cost-effective, safe designs, adherence to codes, and collaboration with clients. 0–2 years in utilities may qualify; an associate degree or BS is preferred, with strong MS Office proficiency and good

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field; 2+ years utility experience preferred.
• A BS in Engineering qualifies with no prior experience.
• HS diploma/GED with 4+ years utility experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project packages with material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, site drawings and construction drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, change orders and construction specifications.
• Perform drafting work and assist in the preparation of designs, plans and reports.
• Make accurate engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with clients and construction personnel to resolve project issues.
• Maintain files and records in an organized manner.
• Promote safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Support both overhead and underground distribution project designs.
