Job summary

University of Delaware seeks an early-career Electrical Engineer to support power systems design, controls, and testing for mission-critical naval platforms. Strong fundamentals in power electronics and hands-on experience are essential, in a hybrid environment at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required. Onsite 3 days per week (Tue–Thu) with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or MS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Onsite 3 days per week (Tue–Thu) at Philadelphia Navy Yard.
  • Strong technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and document power systems for mission-critical platforms.
  • Develop power system control logic and algorithms.
  • Troubleshoot, validate, and test power systems.
  • Work with rectifiers, inverters, AC-AC or DC-DC converters.
  • Configure transformers, relays, and UPS systems.
  • Work with IGBTs and harmonic filters.
  • Support power control systems across office, lab, and ship environments.
  • Hybrid work with minimum 3 onsite days at Philadelphia Navy Yard.
  • Travel varies by role, higher for testing roles.
