Job summary

Leidos Energy is seeking a Power Consultant Senior Project Manager - Transaction Services to drive critical energy transactions, including development, financing, acquisition, and sale of power assets. You will identify technical and commercial risks and help clients choose optimal solutions in a dynamic market.

We offer a hybrid work schedule; remote options are possible for qualified candidates, with preferred proximity to Denver, CO or Framingham, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
• 12+ years of experience in independent engineering assignments and related business functions.
• Experience in energy consulting and evaluation of distributed generation, CHPP, utility consulting, and various power technologies.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project developers, utilities, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, investors, bankers, and advisors.
• Determine, monitor, and review project economics including costs, budgets, staffing, subcontractors, resources, and risk.
• Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on project activities.
• Lead project teams based on client requirements and objectives.
• Facilitate status reviews among team members and clients.
• Support proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules with senior management.
• Manage project requirements, scope, and change issues.

Leidos Energy is seeking a Power Consultant Senior Project Manager - Transaction Services to play an important part in transactions, giving you an opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the energy industry. Older, inefficient power generation and transmission systems are being upgraded and replaced with modern, environmentally friendly alternatives.

You will be an integral part of an exceptional team of power industry experts, providing consulting services and work products that our clients view as critical inputs to their business decisions. We evaluate a wide variety of technologies, from wind turbines and solar panels to battery storage systems, fuel cells, and advanced fuel conversion technologies.

We provide expertise, guidance, and consultation to our clients, and our work is centered on supporting financial transactions - the development, financing, acquisition and sale of generation (and non-generation) hard assets. We identify technical and commercial risks and help our clients to find and/or evaluate solutions to their challenges. Work location: Fully remote will be considered for certain candidates. Ideally, you will live near Denver, CO or Framingham, MA where you will work a hybrid schedule.

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborate regularly with project developers, utilities, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, investors, bankers, and legal and financial advisors.
• Determine, monitor, and review all project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, sub-contractors, resources, and risk.
• Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project.
• Lead the project teams based on client requirements and objectives.
• Facilitate status review meetings among project team members and clients.
• Work with senior management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
• Manage project requirements, scope, and change issues.
• Coach and counsel members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues.

What does Leidos need from me?

• Senior Level: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited university with twelve plus years of experience in a broad range of independent engineering assignments, and/or related business functions including: consulting for lenders, funds, utilities, and independent developers. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Subject Matter Expert Level: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline from an accredited university with fifteen plus years of experience in a broad range of independent engineering assignments, and/or related business functions including: consulting for lenders, funds, utilities, and independent developers. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in energy consulting and the evaluation of distributed generation, combined heat and power plants, utility consulting, electric power generation facilities, including renewable (solar, wind), hydroelectric, energy storage, thermal (combustion turbine, solid-fuel), carbon capture and sequestration and/or other power generation technologies.
• Experience with evaluation of commercial risks in construction, procurement, operating and services contracts.
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time.

Favorable if you have:

• Proficiency in technical writing
• MBA
• Bilingual (Spanish)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00
