Job summary

BXP, Inc. in Boston, MA is offering an IT Data Services Intern role to help build dashboards and reports using Power BI, SSRS, and Crystal Reporting Services. You will work with the IS team and business partners on requirements, data sources, and data security.

The internship will involve developing dashboards, writing specifications, and supporting data services and applications teams on multiple initiatives, with project work taking about half of the time.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing coursework in Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, or a related field.
• Be detail-oriented and methodical in solving problems and managing multiple projects.
• Aptitude toward learning technical concepts and be results-oriented.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases.
• Ability to write SQL statements.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tool sets.
• Knowledge of API and Python frameworks to aggregate data from disparate sources.

Responsibilities

• Develop or enhance dashboards in Power BI and reports using SSRS and Crystal Reporting Services.
• Identify internal and external data sources, build data pipelines, and query data using SQL.
• Create technical specifications and data dictionaries for reports and dashboards.
• Implement and follow data security in line with BXP security standards.
• Gather requirements from the business and write specifications for application development work.
• Support the Applications Data Services and Applications Groups on project initiatives.
• Support the Application Data Services team with database maintenance, patching, and performance.
