Job summary

Akkodis in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Developer for a 12-month contract. This role will develop scalable Power BI reports and data models, integrating with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks sources while enforcing data security and governance.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, building dashboards, optimizing performance, and collaborating with data engineers and platform teams to deliver production-ready solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Power BI Desktop and Power BI service experience.
• Advanced DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, and report design.
• Advanced SQL skills including complex queries and performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse/Warehouse, OneLake, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and semantic models.
• Experience connecting Power BI to Databricks (Databricks SQL warehouses).
• Knowledge of data security, governance, access controls, and secure authentication.

Responsibilities

• Gather reporting requirements and translate them into dashboards, reports, and data visuals.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models.
• Create data models, relationships, calculations, and KPIs using DAX.
• Use Power Query and SQL to transform and prepare data for reporting.
• Integrate Power BI with Fabric and Databricks sources.
• Optimize report, query, refresh, and semantic-model performance.
• Implement workspace permissions and row-level security.
• Document report logic, data sources, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and platform teams to resolve data issues.
