Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power BI Engineer to join its data team in a hands-on role focused on building robust dashboards and data models. You will collaborate with business users, analysts, and data engineers to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions, while ensuring governance and performance.

The position reports to the Senior Director of Data Engineering. The role emphasizes BI development, dashboard creation, and data modeling across the analytics stack, with responsibilities

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Power BI development experience.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling
• Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., Synapse, Data Lake)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Solid understanding of data governance, performance tuning, and visualization best practices
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Background in R&D dashboard development
• Ability to lead requirements workshops, demos, and training sessions with non-technical users

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports
• Create data models using Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define KPIs
• Manage data connections and transformations, and optimize performance
• Implement row-level security and ensure adherence to data governance standards
• Schedule and publish reports to Power BI Service and manage workspaces
• Troubleshoot data issues and provide support to end-users
• Maintain documentation for dashboards and data processes
