Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Power BI Developer (Contract to Hire) in Appleton, WI to design, develop, and optimize BI dashboards for Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing. You will transform data from an Azure Data Lake into semantic models and visuals that drive decision-making, collaborating with finance, manufacturing, sales, and IT for reliable data pipelines.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, scalable dashboards, and proactive improvements in BI tooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
3–7 years of experience in BI development, dashboard design, or reporting.
Strong proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling.
Solid SQL skills for querying and validating data.
Experience with performance tuning and dashboard optimization.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards.
Build and optimize DAX measures for performance and accuracy.
Ensure dashboard scalability, usability, and alignment to business needs.
Partner with Business Analysts to translate requirements into technical builds.
Work with IT Data Team to integrate curated datasets from the Azure Data Lake.
Support performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of BI tools.
Stay current with Power BI best practices, features, and industry trends.
