Job summary

Emids Technologies is hiring a Power BI Developer/Lead to design, develop and maintain scalable BI solutions. The role emphasizes data modeling, DAX measures, and governance, with dashboards and reports across Power BI Desktop, Service and Report Builder.

The position targets 7–15 years of experience, is permanent, and located in Bengaluru/Noida with immediate notice period expectations. Collaboration with data engineering teams will be essential to align reporting with enterprise standards.

Job Description :

Power BI Developer to design/develop/ maintain scalable, high-performance BI solutions. The role focuses on transforming data from multiple sources into meaningful insights through optimized data models, DAX measures, and interactive dashboards, while aligning with enterprise data architecture and governance standards.

Power BI Development & Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and Paginated reports using Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder and Power BI Service
• Create semantic models with optimized star/snowflake schemas
• Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage dataset permissions
• Ensure reports meet business, performance, and usability requirements
• Data Modeling & Performance Optimization
• Design and optimize data models for large datasets
• Improve report performance through:
• Efficient DAX patterns
• Proper relationships and cardinality
• Aggregations and incremental refresh
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in datasets and visuals
• Data Integration & Transformation
• Build and manage Power Query (M) transformations
• Integrate data from relational databases (PostgreSQL / SQL-based systems) and cloud data sources
• Work closely with data engineering teams to validate data pipelines and reporting tables
• Governance, Deployment & Operations
• Follow Power BI best practices for workspace design, dataset reuse, and deployment pipelines
• Basic knowledge of automating flows using Power Automate
• Support migration and development in Microsoft Fabric (if applicable)
• Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, and data definitions
• Monitor dataset refreshes, gateway health, and usage metrics
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions
• Support ad-hoc analysis and executive-level reporting needs
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and product teams to align reporting with future-state architecture
