Position Overview

This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining reporting and data solutions. It requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to create and sustain reports, data pipelines, and data warehouses that meet business needs. The role also influences the strategic direction of the company's BI initiatives and promotes collaboration across teams.

The Power BI Developer will work onsite 5 days a week at our Somerset, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities

1. Power BI Reporting & Administration: Design, develop, and deploy Power BI and SSRS reports and dashboards; collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements; develop and maintain data models ensuring accuracy; serve as tenant admin for Power BI, ensuring data security and compliance; optimize solutions for performance and scalability.
2. ETL & Data Warehousing: Create and manage data warehousing solutions; develop and maintain ETL processes; integrate data from various sources; optimize performance with the database administrator; troubleshoot data pipelines and warehouse systems.
3. Training & Documentation: Maintain technical specifications, data mappings, and solution designs; document processes; manage data definitions, lineage, and catalogs.
4. Project Management: Oversee Power BI projects, support BI team, build stakeholder relationships, record meeting notes in Confluence, and project updates in Jira.
5. Data Governance: Implement data governance policies, monitor report usage, and ensure data quality and security.
6. Routine IT Functions: Handle Help Desk tickets related to reporting; perform software and hardware installations.

• Handle email and telephone inquiries professionally.
• Resolve problems, provide information, or refer issues to appropriate personnel.
• Perform other assigned job functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, machine learning, or related field.
• Experience with cloud BI environments (Azure, AWS).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, visualization, and ETL processes (SSIS, Azure Synapse, Informatica, Snowflake).
• Proficiency in SQL and strong knowledge of DAX.
• Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and tools (Azure Blob Storage, Snowflake, Redshift).
• Experience with Power Pivot, SSRS, Azure Synapse, or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail, self-checking ability, and time management skills.
