Job summary

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong data engineering expertise. You will design and build Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI solutions using governed VA/VHA data assets, including the CDW.

You will own end-to-end solutions from data modeling to ALM governance to ensure performance, maintainability, and compliance. The role emphasizes data ingestion, transformation, and secure, scalable BI reporting across VA data sources, with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
4–6 years building solutions with the Microsoft Power Platform, with hands-on production experience across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
Demonstrated Power Apps development: Dataverse modeling, screen/form design, Power Fx logic, and data connections to Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL-based sources
Demonstrated Power Automate development: cloud flows using connectors, expressions, and error handling for data movement, approvals, and process automation
Demonstrated Power BI development: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, refresh, and report/dashboard delivery
Hands-on data engineering experience: building ETL/ELT or data pipelines, data modeling, and working with structured and semi-structured data from multiple systems
Strong understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL for building, reviewing, and validating data structures and logic
Working knowledge of Power Platform data connectivity (Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL) and how governed data assets support these solutions
Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices, and the ability to document the logic behind delivered solutions
Experience supporting business process engineering (process mapping, as-is/to-be workflows, requirements elicitation)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including translating technical content for non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams
Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models against VA data sources
Author robust data models with star-schema design and documented DAX measures
Configurerow-level security (RLS), gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment
Tune model and report performance and apply deployment pipelines for promotion across environments
Build certified, reusable datasets and shared semantic models for multiple reports and apps
Design and build ETL/ELT data pipelines moving data from VA sources into Dataverse/Azure SQL
Develop and maintain Power Platform dataflows, Azure Data Factory, and/or SSIS pipelines
Designdimensional and normalized data models to support analytics
Implement performant data connectivity with gateways, dataflows, and direct SQL
Build data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks in pipelines
Apply CI/CD and source control to data assets and collaborate on reusable patterns
Work with VA/CDW data sources, domains, and enterprise VA systems
Collaborate with technical teams to leverage data flows across environments
Enable analysts and engineers to use VA data assets through solutions and reference material
Maintain governance and compliance documentation for data ownership, usage constraints
Contribute reusable patterns and templates for delivery tooling and processes
Support Agile or hybrid delivery with proper documentation
