Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Power BI developer / Business Analyst to design polished dashboards, semantic models, and curated datasets in Tampa.

You will translate business needs into technical requirements, communicate data-driven value, and collaborate across accounting, operations, and IT teams. The role requires intermediate Power BI skills, SQL Server experience, data modeling knowledge, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Intermediate Power BI experience with data modeling and security.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new business systems, tools, and terminology quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with validating data and dashboards across sources.
• Intermediate SQL Server experience with T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Understanding of fact/dimension design and star/snowflake schemas.
• Ability to manage small to medium projects of moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop polished Power BI dashboards and semantic models.
• Validate dashboards and datasets against source systems and reports.
• Trace data from sources through SQL, Fabric, and models to explain results.
• Understand existing SQL Server VP/DataMart datasets and reporting logic.
• Maintain curated reporting datasets and semantic models in Microsoft Fabric.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and data sources.
• Document dataset definitions, rules, lineage, and limitations.
• Support front-office and management reporting as part of a cross-trained team.
