Job summary

Hartwig, Inc. in St. Louis, MO seeks an Accounting and Reporting Analyst to advance general ledger activities while building financial reports and Power BI dashboards. You will support month-end close, journal entries, and develop metrics that communicate results to stakeholders.

This role blends traditional accounting with analytics, offering growth through automation and cross-functional collaboration across finance and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and solid GAAP knowledge.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close.
• Hands-on experience creating reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, and data analysis functions.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and recurring entries.
• Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with established timelines.
• Assist with audit support and documentation as needed.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting documentation.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards using data from ERP and other systems.
• Develop meaningful visualizations and metrics that clearly communicate financial results and trends.
• Collaborate with finance and operational leaders to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective reports.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs.
• Support ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes through automation and improved data modeling.
• Partner with accounting, finance, and other departments to enhance data availability and usability
