Job summary

Triple Cities Metal Finishing in the Northeastern United States seeks a Production Racker to support quality, safety, and productivity through hands-on operations. You will read work orders to rack and unrack parts for processes such as plating, anodizing, powder coat, or wet paint, and package finished parts per customer specifications.

You will work closely with painters and powder coaters, ensuring parts are ready for processing and that workflow remains uninterrupted.

Qualifications

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is currently seeking a Production Racker to join our team. As a Production Racker you will play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands‑on approach. Specifically, the role focuses on reading a work order to racking and unracking before and after subsequent processes such as anodize or paint, as well as packaging parts for shipment. Additionally, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to work directly with our skilled Painters & Powder coaters, with a clear path for career advancement and professional growth.

Position Overview

• Racking and Unracking Parts:
  • Reading work orders to determine how to place or hang metal parts on racks or hooks to prepare them for various finishing processes, such as plating, anodizing, powder coat or wet paint.
  • Racking items strategically to maximize coating coverage and minimize waste.
  • Distributing items evenly on the rack to maintain stability during transport and coating.
  • Unracking parts after processing.
• Efficiency and Productivity:
  • Keeping up in a fast‑paced environment by ensuring that the painters & powder coaters have parts racked and ready for processing continuously without delay.
  • Prioritizing items based on production schedules and deadlines.
  • Filling racks efficiently without compromising coating quality.
• Quality Control:
  • Inspect parts before and after the finishing process to ensure they meet quality standards and reporting any defects or non‑conformances to supervisors.
• Packaging:
  • Package completed parts by following customer specifications, prints and guidelines to ensure proper packing of parts.
• Job Monitoring:
  • Utilize computer system to track job progress and scan in and out of jobs.
• Collaboration:
  • Team Communication: Coordinate with painters, anodize operators, or other production team members to ensure smooth workflow during subsequent processes.
  • Feedback Loop: Provide feedback on racking challenges or improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) to protect against chemicals and sharp edges.
  • Work Area Safety: Maintain a safe work environment, especially when handling chemicals or using cutting tools.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.

• Skills & Competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Clear communication is essential for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Basic math and computer skills, ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as lift up to 50lbs, bend, push, pull, reach and twist for 8‑10 hours a day.
  • Quality Standards: Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Shift Hours:

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am-2:30pm

Total Compensation Package:

• Wage
  • $16.50+ per hour
  • Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
