Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Ohio is seeking a manufacturing helper for MOV Blocks used in high voltage surge arrestors. The role operates on a 5:00pm–5:00am schedule (Fri–Sun); you will work 36 hours but be paid for 40.

Starting rate is $24.00 per hour with a 10% shift differential. Responsibilities include operating presses, weighing and loading materials, milling, mixing, screening, spray drying, quality checks, and following safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic tasks on a PC/tablet.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, understand and use analytical instruments (PH meter, viscometer).
• Ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (walkie, tow lift, forklift).
• Proficiency in reading/writing/speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in manufacturing MOV Blocks for high voltage surge arrestors under supervision.
• Operate and troubleshoot presses; load raw materials.
• Weigh, load, mill, mix, screen, and spray dry materials.
• Measure in-process properties and make decisions based on results.
• Meet or exceed daily production goals.
• Follow safety rules including lockout/tagout.

Starting Rate $24.00 per hour plus 10% Shift Differential

Work Schedule - 5:00pm - 5:00am Friday, Saturday, Sunday

• Under direct supervision, assist in the manufacturing of MOV Blocks used in the assembly of high voltage surge arrestors
• Operate and troubleshoot multiple presses at the same time
• Precisely weighing and loading raw materials into mills
• Milling, mixing, screening, and spray drying operations.
• Measurement of in-process properties and decision making based on results
• Meet and/or exceed daily production goals
• Precisely unloading pressed blocks from press onto metal pallets
• Follow all safety rules and lock out tag out regulations for self and others
• Follow, read and comprehend work orders, specification books as well as written and verbal instructions
• Perform periodic quality checks for blocks (height, diameter, and visual inspections)
• Participate in 5S program and perform routine housekeeping to keep area clean
• Other duties as assigned

• Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
• Continuously works in hot and humid environment for extended periods of time
• Must be able to remain on feet or walking 90% of the time
• Frequently lifts materials up to 60 pounds
• Work in a fast-paced setting
• Frequent ascending and descending of ladder, and stairs 12ft in the air
• Ability to be exposed to loud noises, dusty conditions for extended periods of time.
