Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Powder Operator to prepare, coat, and finish fabricated steel and aluminum parts using powder coating systems at our Milwaukee facility. The role ensures products meet customer specifications and high-quality standards.

You will set up equipment, apply coatings to tanks and enclosures, and monitor quality while working with production and quality teams. This onsite, temp-to-hire position offers steady hours and OT eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with powder coating in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Experience coating steel or aluminum products is highly desired.
• Ability to read work instructions and specifications.
• Must pass competency assessment and pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate powder coating equipment for steel and aluminum components.
• Apply powder coatings to fuel tanks, enclosures, frames, and assemblies.
• Prepare surfaces through cleaning, masking, and handling materials.
• Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality per specs.
• Inspect finished work and adjust processes to maintain quality.
• Load, mix, and manage coating materials per production needs.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Operate material handling equipment and move parts through coating.
• Coordinate with production and quality to meet schedules and expectations.

The ideal candidate has experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing a high-quality finish.**Responsibilities:*** Set up and operate powder coating equipment for steel and aluminum components.* Apply powder coatings to fabricated products including fuel tanks, enclosures, frames, and structural assemblies.* Prepare surfaces for coating through cleaning, masking, and material handling processes.* Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality to ensure compliance with specifications.* Inspect completed work and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.* Mix, load, and manage coating materials according to production requirements.* Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot coating issues.* Safely operate material handling equipment and assist with movement of parts throughout the coating process.* Work closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer expectations.**Requirements:*** Previous powder coating experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.* Experience coating steel, aluminum, or other fabricated metal products highly desired.* Ability to recognize coating defects and make process adjustments to maintain quality standards.* Experience operating powder coating equipment, spray systems, or related finishing equipment.* Ability to read work instructions, specifications, and production documents.* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.* Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team environment.* Manufacturing experience required.* Must pass a competency assessment and pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
