Job summary

Hendrick Technical Solutions in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Part-Time Powder Coating Technician to join our defense-focused facility. Responsibilities include surface preparation, masking, coating with ceramic and powder techniques, and finishing parts for ITAR-controlled projects.

You will operate spray guns and booths, conduct quality checks, maintain a clean workspace, and wrap finished parts for shipment. A high school diploma and 1+ year coatings experience are preferred; U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in industrial coatings preferred.
• Knowledge of ITAR requirements is a plus.

Duties include surface preparation, equipment setup and maintenance, coating application, quality control, packaging, and maintaining a clean work environment. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **include the following:*** Prepare surfaces to be coated and mask as needed* Optimally hung parts in preparation for efficient coating operations* Set up and maintain equipment (spray guns, booth, filters, etc.)* Operate equipment and machines in accordance with specific operational and safety instructions* Prepare ceramic coating mixings* Apply coatings following specifications as per instructions* Follow quality control and production processing procedures* Identify quality control issues and recommend solutions to quality challenges* Remove the product from the racks and disperse to the proper location* Wrap and package products correctly to be shipped and/or picked up* Spray powder on to parts using correct techniques to assure even, consistent and optimal coverage* Examination of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality control* Maintain proper housekeeping and keep all equipment and workspaces neat and clean* Other duties as assigned **Desired Work Experience:*** up to 3 years **Education/Experience:*** High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience in an industrial painting or coatings environment preferred.* Knowledge of electrocoating or similar finishing processes is a plus.* Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferred.* Basic understanding of electrical and chemical processes used in e-coating.
