Job summary

Hendrick Technical Solutions in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a coatings technician to prepare surfaces, apply ceramic and powder coatings, and ensure quality control. You will set up spray booths and equipment, maintain cleanliness, and package finished parts for shipping or pickup.

Ideal candidates have ≥3 years in industrial painting or coatings, basic electrocoating knowledge, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. ITAR compliance applies; EOE statement included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in an industrial painting or coatings environment preferred.
• Knowledge of electrocoating or similar finishing processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical and chemical processes used in e-coating.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces to be coated and mask as needed.
• Hang parts for coating operations to optimize efficiency.
• Set up and maintain equipment (spray guns, booth, filters, etc.).
• Operate equipment and machines per safety and operational instructions.
• Prepare ceramic coating mixes.
• Apply coatings following specifications.
• Follow quality control and production procedures.
• Identify quality concerns and suggest solutions.
• Remove finished products and route to appropriate location.
• Wrap and package products for shipping or pickup.
• Spray powder coatings to ensure even coverage.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specs.
