Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Powder Coating Department Lead in a manufacturing environment. You will oversee daily operations, drive Lean/5S+1 initiatives, and ensure safety and quality compliance while coordinating with SAP/MRP systems.

The role requires 2+ years in powder coating or industrial painting, strong SAP skills, and proven leadership to manage a team of coaters and line operators. Overtime/weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing/finishing, including 2+ years in powder coating or industrial painting.
• Proficient in SAP or similar MRP/ERP for scheduling, work orders, and inventory.
• Strong knowledge of electrostatic powder coating applications and pretreatment methods.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and coach a team of powder coaters, line operators, and support staff.
• Assign daily work based on SAP picklists, Lot-by-Lot sheets, and production schedules.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, safety reminders, and quality expectations.
• Ensure proper racking and handling of cabinet and containment components to prevent damage or contamination.
• Monitor surface preparation, coating thickness, adhesion, and curing to meet quality standards.
• Perform in-process inspections and resolve coating defects with Quality.
• Implement corrective actions and maintain Lot-by-Lot documentation.
• Support ISO 9001 compliance through accurate record-keeping and procedures.
• Oversee setup, operation, and care of powder spray guns, booths, ovens, and pretreatment systems.
• Enforce OSHA/EHS safety policies and conduct daily safety inspections.
• Overtime or weekend work may be required to meet production schedules.
