Job summary

Weco Manufacturing in Union Hill, NY is seeking a finish technician to apply paint or powder coatings to metal parts, supporting our on-site finishing capabilities across powder, paint, and related processes.

You will follow documented coating procedures, prepare surfaces, and ensure quality by inspecting finish thickness and adhesion. The position offers a stable shift schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Powder coating processes and application techniques.
Surface preparation methods such as cleaning, masking, and sandblasting.
Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and basic technical drawings.
Understanding of coating thickness requirements and quality standards.
Ability to read and write routine correspondence and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Cleans grease and dirt from product.
Applies masking tape over parts not to be coated.
Fills cavities and dents with putty to smooth surface.
Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce color.
Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to airhose.
Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate spray width and pressure.
Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
Caoats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
Cures paint or powder in an oven.
Removes rust from metal with abrasive tools.
Cleans area after tasks.
Performs other duties as necessary to comply with state and federal regulations.
