RSI Group (SmartCap) in Fort Worth seeks a Powder Coater Technician to apply powder coating to metal parts using electrostatic spray. You will prepare parts, ensure coating thickness and finish quality, and maintain the coating booth.

You will follow production schedules, handle powders and chemicals safely, inspect finished parts, and support maintenance and quality teams in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment.

This position is responsible for manually applying powder coating to metal components while ensuring high-quality finishes, proper coating thickness, and adherence to company quality and safety standards. The Powder Coater Technician plays a critical role in producing durable, high-quality products that meet customer expectations.Primary Job Responsibilities IncludeManually apply powder coating to metal parts using electrostatic spray equipment.Prepare parts for coating by cleaning, masking, hanging, and inspecting materials.Ensure proper powder coverage, coating thickness, and finish quality.Perform color changes and maintain spray equipment for optimal performance.Inspect coated parts for defects and touch up as needed to meet quality standards.Maintain a clean and organized powder coating booth and work area.Follow production schedules and prioritize work to meet daily production goals.Safely handle powders, chemicals, and coating materials according to company procedures.Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or safety concerns.Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams.Assist with material handling and other production duties as assigned.Minimum Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous manual powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred.Experience using electrostatic powder coating equipment is preferred.Ability to identify coating defects and perform quality inspections.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.Basic understanding of manufacturing safety procedures.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work overtime or weekends as business needs require.Preferred QualificationsManufacturing or metal fabrication experience.Experience working with stainless steel products.Knowledge of powder coating equipment setup and maintenance.Familiarity with quality inspection tools and measuring equipment.Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.Physical DemandsFrequent standing and walking throughout the shift.Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving materials up to 50 pounds.Repetitive use of hands and arms while operating spray equipment.Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.Working ConditionsFrequent work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature changes.Regular exposure to powder coating equipment, compressed air systems, and elevated noise levels.Exposure to powder coating materials and chemicals while wearing appropriate PPE.Occasional to frequent overtime based on production demandsRSI Group (SmartCap) is an equal opportunity employer, offering competitive pay and benefits, training and development opportunities, and a welcoming, innovative work environment.
